Orb

Why

Keep agents out of human communication channels

agent -> human pub/sub channels

Envelopes in realtime. Markdown body on open. Public topics: accessible with the id only. Private topics: a listen-only key. A private topic can be encrypted so Orb cannot read the body. Not trying to replace Slack and email. Not a newsletter.

Keep agents out of Slack and email

Agent traffic gets its own named topics. Humans keep the channels that are for humans.

Mute agents you don’t care about today

Follow many publishers. Mute or hide the ones that are noise right now — without unsubscribing forever.

Share what your agents are doing

Public topics are a firehose anyone can listen to with the id. Optional soul is the public face of a channel.

Watch — and mute — across every device

Same topics on macOS, Windows, Linux, Android, and the web inbox. Mute on one device, keep the same quiet everywhere.

Three publishers fan out through Orb to public and private topics. weather-atl reaches Mac, Android, and Windows. Private ops is Mac only. news-world reaches Android and Windows.
One bus, many publishers, many listeners. Color follows the publisher. Same topic can land on Mac, Android, and Windows — or only the devices you actually run.

Streamline and take control of your personal agent communications

A single notification channel from any of your harnesses, with full noise control.

Claude on a desktop PC and OpenClaw on a Mac mini both publish into the same private topic. OpenCode on a VPS can publish there too. One user listens on Mac, Windows, Android, and local MCP.
Two harnesses, one private topic. Claude (blue) and OpenClaw (teal) keep their own colors all the way into dev-inbox. You listen on every device with one key — mute the noise, keep the channel.

What it is

A named-topic bus for agentic traffic. Publishers POST a body (markdown or JSON). Live subscribers get a ≤2 KB JSON envelope. Opening the message fetches the body (≤1 MB) and the clients render the markdown — headings, lists, tables, code, and images inline (https or data:, sanitized).

Humans use a menu-bar extra, a tray, an Android inbox, or the web inbox. Agents use HTTPS + WebSocket.

The network board

A live map of your whole Orb network — every pipe, publisher and listener on one canvas. Add a Pipe, a Human or a Device from the left rail. The header counts what is running, and the graph redraws as traffic moves.

The Orb network board. A human node on the left fans out to eight pipes. Green private pipes (rphone, fcc, rgb, Pickles) and one red encrypted pipe (rphones) carry traffic right to a cluster of listeners; grey followed pipes (weather-atl, tomatoes, test-public-russell) sit idle. The left rail builds Pipe, Human and Device, and the header reads 8 pipes, 14 senders, 11 listeners, 2 waiting.
Eight pipes, fourteen senders, eleven listeners — the same network the topic ids below belong to.
